OMAYAL ACHI COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTRE

   ARAKAMPAKKAM, THIRUVALLUR DISTRICT

The Trust Established the Omayal Achi Community Health Centre in Arakampakkam, to meet the health demands/ needs of     the Community people.

In the year 1995 the centre was started in thatched hut with a single medical officer and nursing students. The centre served its     medical service freely to the near by villages and to daily wage workers who were at poverty line.

To expose the college students to community health, due to the support and insistence of the local villagers the Center had to     move to a better facility. The Centre developed its infrastructure and planned to give a full medical support and extend its     service to the other remote villages which has no medical facility or transport facility.

The Centre expanded its infrastructure in the year 1998.The Building expenditure for the new Center was met by a substantial     grant given by the Government and the people of Japan. Shri Yuzuki R.P. Kaku, Consul- General of Japan was the chief guest     on that occasion. Shri P.Chidambaram, the then member of the Indian Parliament and the Finance Minister (1998) of India lit     the lamp to inaugurate the Centre.

  TAX EXEMPTION:

35 AC i.e. 100 percent tax exemption has been granted by the Government of India for all donations received by the Centre.     The Trust is registered under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act 1976 for receiving contributions from abroad.
